Blog post: So you called your MoC. Did it count?

Big questions we’ve had ourselves and that we’ve gotten a lot from IndivisibleEB-ers is “Does my call count? What if the line is busy? Can I email instead?”

Well, Indivisible East Bay did a little research and here’s what we found. The results are reflected in our daily call/email script page.

MoC Calls/ emails/ faxes/ postcards tallied the same? Lag time? Is more than 1 issue per call/email OK? What do you need to provide? Say “I don’t need a response”?

Blog post: Indivisible = formidable

It’s hard to imagine a better way to start the week than to see the Indivisible movement on the front page of the New York Times!

But what about our own Indivisible East Bay? We had so many wins last week that it was hard to choose the best one to open today’s newsletter with. But ultimately, choosing our favorite achievement from last week was easy. Subtle, but easy. Within an hour of committing to a decision, Sen. Feinstein’s office emailed to tell us she’d heard Indivisible specifically and she would vote against Jeff Sessions. We called and we showed up at her office and our opinions made their way the senate floor. We’re officially formidable!

Blog post: Next round of calls to make! 2/8/17

“Hi. My name is ___, my zip code is ___, and I’m with Indivisible East Bay. I’m calling/emailing with one request: “

  • Thank you for opposing Steve Bannon and cosponsoring bill S.291!
  • Oppose Gorsuch for the Supreme Court.
  • No on Scott Pruitt for the EPA (Sen. Feinstein only).
  • Until the Muslim ban is completely overturned…
    • …please don’t pass any bills – not even to name a post office. No justice, no bills.
    • …please withhold the unanimous consent needed for day-to-day senate procedures to move forward. #WithholdConsent.

Here’s the background info for all of these issues.
Don’t despair if the line is busy! We’ve confirmed that calls and emails have the same weight.
