It’s been a horrifying few weeks. First, mass murder in Atlanta of eight people, including six Asian women, amidst a national uptick in anti-Asian violence and hate. Then, this past Monday, another shooting, this time in a Boulder grocery store, killing ten people. We’re struggling with the awful news, but we’re glad to be in (virtual) community with each other in these challenging times – still trying to fight voter suppression, pass the For the People Act, and push our Senators to abolish the filibuster (which, as it happens, would help pass gun control and hate crime legislation). Here are some resources on how to support the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community; here are some for Boulder.
Speaking of virtual community, we’d love to see you at our All Members Meeting this Sunday, March 28, from 1 to 3 PM on Zoom – RSVP here. We’ve got several great guests this month. Sarah Wulf will talk about how we can pass California’s latest single payer healthcare bill, CalCare (AB 1400). And this month’s long-distance Indivisible guests, our partners from Indivisible TX Lege, will discuss their work. We’ll also hear an update on our work on California State bills, and a report from our latest meeting with Senator Padilla’s staff.
Hope you can be there – we’d love to see you and anyone you’d like to bring!
