Description: DUA applies to losses beginning the week of October 15, 2017, and benefits are up to $450 a week for up to 26 weeks.
Eligibility: Workers and self-employed individuals who lost their jobs or had their work hours substantially reduced as a result of the wildfires in Butte, Lake, Mendocino, Napa, Nevada, Orange, Sonoma, and Yuba counties.

Documents: Most recent federal income tax form or check stubs (or documentation to support that you were working or self-employed when the disaster occurred—can be obtained from banks or government entities, or affidavits from individuals having knowledge of their business.)

Notes: You may also qualify for Disability Insurance or Paid Family Leave. You do not need to qualify for regular state unemployment insurance benefits to qualify for these benefits. You may qualify if you: cannot perform work because of an injury, can no longer work or perform services because of physical damage or destruction to the place of employment, cannot reach work because of the disaster, or became the head of their households because of a death caused by the disaster.
