Take Back the Vote National Conference, 2nd Annual

When: October 7 and 8; 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM both days.

What: Over 30 nationally recognized election integrity leaders will convene to discuss the current crises in our elections. Among the speakers and guests: computer scientists, professors, lawyers, journalists and election officials as well as federal, state and local legislators. They’ll present their findings, answer questions, and organize a national effort to restore publicly verified democracy in the United States.

Prop. 13 Reform Town Hall

When: September 9, 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM

What: The Evolve team invites you to join us for a town hall we are coordinating with the Make It Fair campaign! Bay Area Rally Against Hate

When: August 27, 10:30 AM

What: We’re residents of the Bay Area — people of color, working class people, immigrants, queer, gay, bi, and trans people, liberals, leftists, and others. We think it’s time to get together, to celebrate our differences in solidarity, and peacefully speak out against the hateful currents in American society.

Fascists and white supremacists are meeting in Berkeley to try to intimidate us and incite violence. We’re meeting near UC Berkeley campus, blocks away and on the other side of the downtown, for a non-violent rally to speak to each other about the world we want. Join us, bring snacks, bring signs!

ACLU Day of Action

August 19: The ACLU of Northern California is organizing a Coordinated Day of Action to promote passage of SB 54 (California Values Act re immigration) and SB 10 (bail reform). Phone banks, canvassing and tabling of various sorts—some at ACLU in SF, some that people can organize in their own homes and communities. The Berkeley City Council will be voting  Tuesday May 16 at their 7pm meeting about ending their relationship with Urban Shield – the training arm of Homeland Security that militarizes police departments.  This, of course, targets communities of color most especially.
