It’s another tough pandemic week: voting restrictions in Georgia, an attack at the Capitol, and another shooting in Orange, CA. And we continue to be horrified by incidents of anti-Asian violence in the Bay Area and elsewhere. We know many of you attended rallies last week: see more resources and info in our articles from last year and this year.
In better news, we’re seeing great vaccine progress here in the US. Californians age 50 and older are eligible for the vaccine now, and everyone 16+ is eligible on April 15th! Tell your representative to urge the Biden administration to support the WHO TRIPS waiver, allowing a more globally equitable pandemic recovery. We’re also excited to hear that two additional bills can be moved through budget reconciliation. This means that two more bills can avoid filibuster obstruction and pass with 51 votes. This is great news for passing vital legislative priorities, possibly including Biden’s infrastructure bill.
