We’ve got several events coming up soon, and we hope you’ll participate!
First up is the Bay Area Votercade this Saturday, May 8th! It’s one of about 150 events nationwide supporting the For the People Act (H.R.1), the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (H.R.4), and D.C. Statehood. Speakers start at 11 a.m., the COVID-safe car caravan starts at noon, and the celebration tailgate starts at 1 p.m.. Bring a picnic if you can, but there’ll be at least one food cart present, too! The event wraps up by about 2:30 p.m. RSVP here.

Votercade organizers still need volunteers to help decorate cars, direct people, drive in or lead Votercade cars, or staff the celebration tailgate. Please arrive at 9:30 a.m. to help in the morning, or at 12:30 to help in the afternoon, and look for a volunteer check-in table when you get there. E-mail Nancy at nancylatham63@gmail.com ASAP before May 7th if you’re able to volunteer. And if you can’t volunteer, we’d still love to see you at the event!
Then, on Monday, May 17th at 6:30PM, we’ll host a joint Zoom meeting of IEB members participating in Indivisible National’s Issue Working Groups! As you may remember, Indivisible National is holding working groups on their 5 core issue areas (Climate Justice, Democracy Reform, Economic Justice, Healthcare Justice, and Immigrant Justice), and IEB is participating. At the May 17th meeting, we’ll hear updates from each group and then break out into small groups on each issue. Newcomers and working group old-timers are both very welcome, and there’s no required monthly time commitment, so come if you’re interested in taking issue-focused action! Read more & RSVP here.
