StateStrong Lobby Week
We’re gauging interest in a virtual StateStrong Lobby Week! We’d meet mid-August, after most Appropriations hearings, to garner support for a few key California priority bills, chosen by the Lobby Week planning team. Small groups from each district will meet their legislators to explain why their bill is important and ask for their support. We’ll provide a brief training and will hold a planning meeting before the legislator meetings to assign roles.

Reproductive Rights Action
It’s been a wild week in the news, so you may have missed the two new reproductive rights bills moving through Congress. The updated Women’s Health Protection Act, H.R. 8296, would to a large extent make Roe and Casey into federal law, and would in addition prohibit state governments from imposing other limits to abortion access. And under H.R. 8297, the Ensuring Access to Abortion Act, a state that bans abortions cannot prevent people from traveling to other states for abortion services, and cannot punish anyone seeking, providing, or helping someone obtain an abortion in another state. Indivisible East Bay is joining the ACLU and other groups in supporting these vital bills to protect reproductive freedom. Use our script to ask your Members of Congress for their support today!
