IEB recognizes the need to address the root causes of the current crisis in Gaza. Since 1948, when Jews fled the Nazi Holocaust in Europe and immigrated to historic Palestine, Arab Palestinians have faced dispossession of their land and unequal treatment, as well as settler and Israeli state violence.

IEB believes that a just and lasting peace must be reached based on international law and the recognition of the rights and dignity of Israelis and Palestinians alike.

IEB condemns the ongoing violence against civilians in Gaza, the violence against Israelis and taking of hostages by Hamas on October 7, 2023, and the Israeli military response. More than 60,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, and Israel is now imposing a policy of starvation against the children and other civilians of Gaza.

1) IEB calls for the lifting of the blockade of Gaza and allowing safe and unimpeded humanitarian aid to reach Gaza civilians, in accordance with international law.

2) IEB supports an immediate and permanent bilateral ceasefire.

3) IEB calls for the immediate release of all hostages and political prisoners.

4) IEB calls on the U.S. government to stop all aid to the Israeli government until constructive steps are taken toward ending the military occupation of the West Bank and Gaza and progress is made toward granting Palestinians equal rights.

5) IEB recognizes that in the U.S. and around the world, antisemitism and Islamophobia have been on the rise.  We are committed to fighting antisemitism and Islamophobia and recognize the importance of combating Trump’s use of hate to support his white nationalist agenda.
