Public banks can help resist fascism by making communities less dependent on federal budgets AND they can help create the future we are fighting for. Public banks help get tax dollars out of big banks that invest our tax dollars in war, detention centers, and fossil fuels. Instead, they keep money local to invest in community projects. Help Berkeley get a measure on the ballot to create a fund to start a public bank by helping us collect 4,000 signatures before May 7.
