Ask your U.S. Senators to vote against Trump’s unfit judicial nominees

Chad Readler, Trump’s appointee in the U.S. Dept of Justice, has opposed the Affordable Care Act including protection for people with preexisting conditions. He’s also defended Trump’s policy of separating migrant children from their parents at the border. His Senator, Sherrod Brown (D-OH), disapproves his nomination for a lifetime federal appeals court judgeship, one step below the Supreme Court. Readler should never be a judge.

Eric Murphy has worked to defund Planned Parenthood, even though the funds covered cancer prevention and sexual violence prevention. As State Solicitor of Ohio, he supported a voter suppression law against racial minorities and attacked environmental laws including control of emissions causing climate change. Murphy’s Senator, Sherrod Brown (D-OH), opposes his nomination for a lifetime federal appeals court judgeship.

Allison Jones Rushing is a religious right extremist nominated to the federal appeals court, one step below the Supreme Court. She is 36 years old and nominated for a lifetime judgeship. In her legal career Rushing has worked for an advocacy group that supports criminalization of abortion, recriminalization of homosexuality, and discrimination against the LGBTQ community based on religious beliefs. Rushing is on the record as favoring heterosexual-only marriage laws.

Jonathan Kobes, now counsel for a conservative senator from SD, has shown strong opposition to a woman’s right to choose. He has supported laws to hinder women seeking legal abortions. Kobes also belongs to the NRA and opposes common sense gun safety. He is nominated for a lifetime judgeship to the federal appeals court.

Stephen R. Clark has been a lawyer and organizer against women’s reproductive rights and same-sex marriage equality for years. He has counseled right-to-life groups on obstructionist tactics against abortion providers and fought contraceptives coverage under the Affordable Care Act. Clark is nominated for a lifetime federal trial court judgeship in Missouri.
