Deadline: Do it now – This week, we’re asking you to contact both our California senators, with a special message for each.
To Senator Padilla:
Please welcome brand-new Senator Alex Padilla and tell him we want him to fight for our priorities, including democracy reform and eliminating the filibuster! Good news: Padilla has already cosponsored H.R. 51 – statehood for Washington, DC – which is part of the democracy reform ask. Also, if you’re reading this before February 8 – join us for our first Zoom meeting with Senator Padilla’s legislative director on Monday February 8, noon to 1 PM. Register here.
What to say to Senator Padilla:
My name is ________, my zip code is ________, and I’m a member of Indivisible East Bay. I’m calling to welcome Senator Padilla. I hope the Senator will work with progressive groups to undo the damage done by the Trump Administration. I want to thank him for supporting statehood for Washington DC. I want him to fight for democracy reform with H.R.1 and to help abolish the filibuster. I look forward to being in touch.
Sen. Alex Padilla: (email); DC: (202) 224-3553
To Senator Feinstein:
Tell our senior senator Dianne Feinstein that it’s unacceptable for her to praise the “leadership” of Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley, her colleagues who supported the January 6 insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol and tried to stop the certification of the Presidential election.
What to say to Senator Feinstein:
My name is _____________, my zip code is __________, and I’m a member of Indivisible East Bay. I’m disgusted that Senator Feinstein has praised Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley and other Senators who tried to stop the vote count in the Jan. 6 attempted coup. Even Mitch McConnell did better than she did. I want Senator Feinstein to speak out against Senators who supported Trump’s attempts at insurrection and to insist on investigations, hearings and penalties for these traitors.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein: email; (415) 393-0707 • DC: (202) 224-3841
