If the race to win the White House remains close (at it seems likely to do), victory for Harris and Walz this November may well come down to who wins the state of Nevada. Control of the Senate could also be determined here in the Silver State — where Democrat Jacky Rosen is seeking re-election.
That is precisely why nine members of Indivisible East Bay — including myself — made the trek to Reno Nevada this past weekend. Once there, we linked up with Nevada Democrats — who provided us with training and assigned lists of homes for us to canvass. Over the next day and a half, we knocked on over 500 doors — encouraging residents to support Harris/Walz and Rosen. And we were only a small fraction of the much larger group of volunteers who spread out over the entire Reno area while we were there.
When we weren’t canvassing, we had time for socializing — getting together with old friends and making new ones. And of course there was food and drinks.
Altogether, it made for a rewarding week-end — one that combined a sense that we were significantly increasing the odds of a Democratic victory with some well-deserved R & R. A good time was had by all!
If you’re disappointed that you missed out on this opportunity — don’t fret. You have another chance to do so. We’re canvassing one more time — the weekend of October 18-20. Click here to sign up (and select only the October 19 and 20 dates).

P.S. If you’d rather canvass closer to home (in CA-13) — or help out in Nevada by phone-banking instead of canvassing — there are numerous opportunities for that as well. Check out our Events calendar for a full list.
