It’s always a treat when Leah Greenberg, co-Founder and co-Executive Director of Indivisible, joins one of our monthly All-Members Meetings (as she has graciously done several times before). Yesterday was no exception.

Leah opened with some brief remarks which were followed by a robust Q&A [view and/or download here]. Leah frankly acknowledged the dangerous times we are all experiencing. However, she warned against giving into despair. Don’t say that we have already lost our democracy; that only leads to giving up. Rather recognize that democracy is in danger and it’s up to us to save it. That’s our job…likely for the next few years (no one said it would be easy). As she exhorted in her inspiring closing comments:

We are not going to stand down. We are not going to let this happen. We are not going to let this define our country. We don’t have kings in this country. We don’t bow to billionaires in this country. We let them know that we don’t work for them. They work for us.

Yesterday’s AMM was also notable because it had the greatest attendance (Zoom or in-person) of any AMM in Indivisible East Bay history. Over 450 people were in the Zoom room. Clearly, people are motivated to fight against the Trump regime.

Appropriately, the remainder of yesterday’s meeting consisted of brief presentations by the Team Leaders of all of IEB’s current lineup of teams. We hope you will sign up for one of them (or more – but pace yourself!). Sign-up links are below – someone will reach out to you within a few days!
